Today, we found that a new user at a client didn’t have Teams on their remote desktop server session. I think it’s because they didn’t have a Teams license assigned to their account before they signed in, but this post is about fixing the missing icon. Here’s how!
While logged in as the affected user…
- Go to C:\Users\%username%\appdata\Local\Microsoft
- In there, delete or rename the Teams folder
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Teams Installer
- In there run Teams.exe, which will install to C:\Users\%username%\appdata\Local\Microsoft and create the appropriate shortcuts!
