On two occasions now, we’ve seen cases where files in OneDrive aren’t syncing (Status: Sync Pending,) and as a result, files opened in Word, Excel, etc. don’t have AutoSave turned on.
It seems that there’s some OneDrive metadata that is affected by file system errors, as the fix in both cases was to:
- Open an admin-elevated command prompt (search for ‘command prompt,’ right-click on the result then choose Run as Administrator.)
- Run ‘chkdsk /r’
- Then restart the computer!
